The effectiveness of essential oils cannot be fully understood without some discussion of frequency.
Frequency is a measurable rate of electrical energy that is constant between any two points. Every living thing has an electrical frequency. Robert O. Becker, M.D., documents the electrical frequency of the human body in his book, The Body Electric. A frequency generator was developed in the early 1920's by Royal Raymond Rife, M.D. He found that by using certain frequencies, he could destroy a cancer cell or virus. He found that these frequencies could prevent the development of disease, and others would destroy disease.
Bjorn Nordenstrom, a radiologist from Stockholm, Sweden, wrote the book "Biologically Closed Circuits". He discovered in the 1980's that by putting an electrode inside a tumor and running a milliamp D.C. (Direct Current) through the electrode, he could dissolve the cancer tumor and stop its growth. He found electropositive and electronegative energy fields in the human body.
Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology in Cheney, Washington, developed new equipment to measure the biofrequency of humans and foods. He used this biofrequency monitor to determine the relationship between frequency and disease. Measuring in megahertz, it was found that processed / canned food had a zero MHz frequency; fresh produce measured up to 15 MHz frequency; dry herbs from 12-22 MHz; and fresh herbs from 2-27 MHz. Essential oils started at 52 MHz and went as high as 320 MHz, which is the frequency of rose oil. A healthy body typically has a frequency ranging from 62 to 78 MHz, while disease begins at 58 MHz.
Clinical research shows essential oils, having the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, can create an environment in which microbes, disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live. Truly, the chemistry and frequencies of essential oils have the ability to help man maintain an optimal health frequency.
It is wonderful to discover that essential oil frequencies are several times greater than frequencies of herbs and foods. For years, research has been conducted on the use of electrical energy to reverse disease. Scientists in the field of natural healing have believed there has to be a more natural way to increase the body's electrical frequency. This led to the research and subsequent discovery of electrical frequencies in essential oils. Patients felt better emotionally when oils were diffused in their rooms. It seemed that, within seconds, these patients were more calm and less anxious with little exposure and inhalation. Certain oils acted within 1-3 minutes; others acted within seconds. It is fascinating to think that an oil applied to the bottom of the feet could travel to the head and take effect within one minute. The more results that have been seen, the more research has been initiated.
Unhealthy Substances Cause Frequency Changes. In one test, the frequency of two individuals, the first a 26 year old male and the second a 24 year old male, was measured at 66 MHz each. The first individual held a cup of coffee (without drinking any), and his frequency dropped to 58 MHz in 3 seconds. He put the coffee down and inhaled an aroma of essential oils. Within 21 seconds, his frequency had returned to 66 MHz. The second individual took a sip of coffee and his frequency dropped to 52 MHz in the same 3 seconds. However, no essential oils were used during the recovery time, and it took 3 days for his frequency to return to its initial 66 MHz. One surprising aspect of this study measured the influence that thoughts have on the body's electrical frequency. Negative thoughts lowered the measured frequency by 12 MHz and positive thoughts raised the measured frequency by 10 MHz. It was also found that prayer and meditation increased the measured frequency levels by 15 MHz.

Omega 3 with Vitamin D3

Avoid these foods that cause allergies, asthma, cancer.
Do you know about the introduction of genetically engineering, growth hormones, and insecticides to our food supply? Have you dragged your feet when it comes to purchasing organic food, just not sure it was worth the price? Last week I talked about the importance of eating unprocessed foods. Today I’ll go a step further.
Do you or your children or any of the people around you suffer from food allergies, or asthma, or cancer? Does it seem to you that the incidence of these diseases is out of proportion to how things were just a generation ago? What is going on? Has something fundamentally changed? The answer is yes. In the US, foods most of us eat (milk and all dairy products, meat, corn and others) have been modified by the introduction of genetically engineered proteins to enhance food production and resistance to crop diseases. And the effect it is having on the population is widespread and devastating.
An unlikely whistle blower - Robyn O'Brien
No one has brought home a more succinct and compelling message about this issue than Robyn O’Brien. She was a food industry analyst with a Type A no nonsense personality, prior to giving birth to 4 children in 5 years. Totally disinterested in what was in our food supply, she says she once believed that if it was on the grocery shelves, it was safe. “Don’t tell me what to eat, and don’t tell me what to feed my kids”. With 4 picky eaters, limited time and on a limited budget she did her best and thought that was enough, until her youngest child had a sudden and very scary allergic reaction to the family breakfast of Eggo waffles, yogurt and scrambled eggs. The pediatrician told her that these were 3 of the top allergen foods. She was dumbfounded. How could a child be allergic to food? Was there something in food today that didn’t used to be there? An allergy is when the body sees food protein as foreign and launches an inflammatory response against the ‘invader’. She started researching and found out that our food is NOT the same as it was 20 years ago.
So, what has changed?
In the 1990s U.S. food industry scientists introduced genetically engineered proteins into foods to maximize yield and profits. As a food industry analyst Robyn understood the economics. It all made perfect sense. BUT, no human trials were conducted and whereas governments worldwide have decided to prohibit the use of these genetically engineered foods, the US went ahead. Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and all 27 European countries have prohibited the use of genetically engineered foods.
Milk allergies are the most common. In 1994 scientists developed a new protein, a synthetic growth hormone that is injected into cows to produce more milk. Although milk production increases, the cows tend to be sicker and more lame than other cows, so the use of antibiotics was increased to ward off infections. You’ve no doubt heard of this issue. Increased hormone levels in our foods is also now linked to breast, prostate and colon cancer. And the US has the highest cancer rates in the world.
Robyn also talks about the changes made to corn and soy, two foods that are in our processed foods, and the foods fed to beef cattle.
Why is organic food so expensive?
Tax payer resources are subsidizing these genetically engineered crops while organic farmers are being charged fees for their practices, and are given no assistance for marketing or promotion (unlike the dairy and meat industries).

Whole Grains
Below you will find an article on Whole Grain vs White Refined. If you have read my articles before, you know how I feel about white's - white flour, white sugar, white rice, white potatoes. They all raise the blood sugar levels in your body and will cause you to gain weight, in addition to all the other issues they cause. Please read my friend, Kim Watson's article on this topic.

White vs Whole Wheat – It Matters
Eating whole wheat bread and whole grain cereals was one of the first things I remember hearing about, back in the early 1970s when the health food mindset emerged into mainstream consciousness. Pretty much everyone now is aware that they should be choosing whole grains over processed. Do you remember why?
As the saying goes, the whiter the bread, the sooner you’re dead… A frequently referenced study in the UK journal Lancet showed that dogs fed exclusively on white bread died of malnutrition within two months. Dogs similarly fed only bread made with stone-ground, whole-wheat flour lived indefinitely in good health. White flour has been treated with chemical bleach. Think Clorox. This leaves a toxic residue you don’t want in your system. There is a long list of chemicals routinely added to breads in the grocery store to extend shelf life. And a longer list of essential nutrients are removed with the bran and germ, and destroyed through bleaching and high heat of the milling process. Then, a very few are added back so that the breads can then be called ‘enriched’! For heaven’s sake, don’t believe that one .
Avoid chronic disease
Over the years, many studies have found that both humans and animals thrive on whole grains and become sick on a diet of refined grains. A Minnesota study identified the components in whole grains that protect against chronic disease. These include compounds like fiber and starch that improve the gut environment, trace minerals that act as antioxidants, phytosterols that support the hormonal system, and agents that bind carcinogens and modulate blood sugar affects.
Keep your bowels regular and healthy
No one likes to talk about it, but being constipated is very uncomfortable. You can improve the health and regularity of your bowels by sticking to whole grains, along with eating fresh fruits and vegetables. The fiber in the grains act like a broom, keeping your gut clean. As an experiment, try eating only whole grains and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables for a week, and stay away from processed foods. Say goodbye to laxatives! Studies also show that eating a whole grain diet can cause the symptoms of diverticulosis to disappear.
Reduce risk of heart disease
A number of studies have shown a reduced incidence of heart disease in women who eat whole grains, as well as better waist-to-hip ratios and lower cholesterol levels.
Normalize blood sugar levels
Since people with diabetes who replace refined foods with whole grain high fiber foods can greatly improve their blood sugar levels and even get off of their insulin, it makes sense that the rest of us can simply keep ourselves on track by doing the same. Why ask for trouble?
Eating whole grains
Pick brown rice every time for stir fries, casseroles, and pilafs. It takes longer to cook but tastes richer and nuttier.
Experiment with quinoa and barley too. Recipes ideas? Click here, and here.
Switch to whole grain pasta today. If you want to ease into it, chose thin spaghetti or angel hair spaghetti to start. But the rigatoni, linguine, penne and bow ties are all great.
Choose whole wheat bread every time. And if you can find fresh baked from a real bakery using their own fresh ingredients, all the better.
Look for whole grain crackers. I love Ak-mak, Ryvita and Wasa crackers topped with avocado and tomato, or cheese or peanut butter for a snack.
Insist on whole grain breakfast cereals. Kashi is a great brand. In our house we routinely have homemade granola and brown rice in our breakfast bowls. Use regular oatmeal, not the quick oats.
Use whole wheat bread crumbs when you cook. I save the ends of my bread loaves and freeze them for this purpose.
Some people seem to believe it is a big sacrifice to eat whole grains. I’m never sure why. The fact is that the fresh whole grain bread tastes better, whole grain pasta and rice satisfy longer, and the cereals are REAL food that will get you through until lunch time (not sugary pseudo-food). When I started eating a whole grain-based diet free of processed foods, I found I could eat more, feel less hungry and stay slim. No downside! What are you waiting for?

Reining in your Sweet Tooth

There is a buzz about sugar going on right now. Research is showing that sugar may be a BIG public health problem. It isn't just fat intake and high cholesterol levels that are the only culprits in the soaring rates of chronic disease today.
Are you a food label reader? Take a look. Sugar and high fructose corn syrup can be found in just about every processed food in the grocery store and fast food restaurant - deli meats, condiments, peanut butter, breads, cereals, frozen waffles, chips, baby foods, instant coffees, baked beans, dairy products, fruit juices, and, of course, in all the foods we expect to be sweet – jam, cookies, cakes, sodas, candy, ice creams etc.
The result? Sugar addiction across the population. Why are so many children resistant to healthy whole foods like vegetables and fruits? They are being weaned onto processed foods and their palettes are attuned and addicted to the sugars and chemical “flavor enhancers” they’ve been fed from the start. And even if you have been vigilant for years in steering clear of ‘unhealthy’ foods, many of the organic processed foods are still full of sugar.
Many of us admit to a ‘sweet tooth’. Is that a problem? Well, for sure, sugar isn’t helping your health. And there is a growing incidence of what the medical industry calls ‘metabolic syndrome’, a name for a group of risk factors that occur together and increase the risk for coronary artery disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Two of the most important risk factors are carrying extra weight around the middle, and insulin resistance, where the body can’t process insulin effectively and blood sugar levels rise. When blood sugar levels rise it affects kidney function and raises the level of triglycerides. This all points to chronic disease.

Would you like to be free of your addiction to sweets?
Like any other addiction it takes persistence and effort. Here are some suggestions to help you along the way:
Don’t drink soft drinks of any kind. This is a no brainer. Just don’t, not even in moderation.
Avoid all artificial sweeteners – they increase your appetite, increase your sugar cravings, inhibit and decrease your fat metabolism. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080210183902.htm
Don’t buy junk food. Don’t have it in your home. You won’t eat it if it isn’t handy
Eat a piece of fruit when you have a sugar craving. Rather than giving a rush of energy, fruit gives a steady supply of glucose to your blood stream. This is a great bridge as you adjust to lower sugar intake.
Exercise. Along with diet, exercise yields great benefits – fitness and stable blood sugar levels.
Break the emotional association. Does sugar = happiness to you? If you associate it with love, reward, romance, holidays and good times, start separating the emotion from the food. Substitute flowers or a gift for the candy. Don’t reward children with food!
Taper off. This isn’t a race. Cut down on how much sugar you are eating with smaller portions or going for longer periods without it. Once you overcome the addiction, your body won’t ask for it. Really!
Don’t fall off the wagon. If you eat the sugary foods at a party or gathering, then the cravings begin all over again. Break the habit once. It's easier that way.
Eat low glycemic foods. Whole foods and whole grains don’t spike your blood sugar.
I’m a big believer in taking small steps. Make your goal and move toward it. Your body will thank you in many ways!

Reining in your Sweet Tooth

There is a buzz about sugar going on right now. Research is showing that sugar may be a BIG public health problem. It isn't just fat intake and high cholesterol levels that are the only culprits in the soaring rates of chronic disease today.
Are you a food label reader? Take a look. Sugar and high fructose corn syrup can be found in just about every processed food in the grocery store and fast food restaurant - deli meats, condiments, peanut butter, breads, cereals, frozen waffles, chips, baby foods, instant coffees, baked beans, dairy products, fruit juices, and, of course, in all the foods we expect to be sweet – jam, cookies, cakes, sodas, candy, ice creams etc.
The result? Sugar addiction across the population. Why are so many children resistant to healthy whole foods like vegetables and fruits? They are being weaned onto processed foods and their palettes are attuned and addicted to the sugars and chemical “flavor enhancers” they’ve been fed from the start. And even if you have been vigilant for years in steering clear of ‘unhealthy’ foods, many of the organic processed foods are still full of sugar.
Many of us admit to a ‘sweet tooth’. Is that a problem? Well, for sure, sugar isn’t helping your health. And there is a growing incidence of what the medical industry calls ‘metabolic syndrome’, a name for a group of risk factors that occur together and increase the risk for coronary artery disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Two of the most important risk factors are carrying extra weight around the middle, and insulin resistance, where the body can’t process insulin effectively and blood sugar levels rise. When blood sugar levels rise it affects kidney function and raises the level of triglycerides. This all points to chronic disease.

Would you like to be free of your addiction to sweets?
Like any other addiction it takes persistence and effort. Here are some suggestions to help you along the way:
Don’t drink soft drinks of any kind. This is a no brainer. Just don’t, not even in moderation.
Avoid all artificial sweeteners – they increase your appetite, increase your sugar cravings, inhibit and decrease your fat metabolism. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080210183902.htm
Don’t buy junk food. Don’t have it in your home. You won’t eat it if it isn’t handy
Eat a piece of fruit when you have a sugar craving. Rather than giving a rush of energy, fruit gives a steady supply of glucose to your blood stream. This is a great bridge as you adjust to lower sugar intake.
Exercise. Along with diet, exercise yields great benefits – fitness and stable blood sugar levels.
Break the emotional association. Does sugar = happiness to you? If you associate it with love, reward, romance, holidays and good times, start separating the emotion from the food. Substitute flowers or a gift for the candy. Don’t reward children with food!
Taper off. This isn’t a race. Cut down on how much sugar you are eating with smaller portions or going for longer periods without it. Once you overcome the addiction, your body won’t ask for it. Really!
Don’t fall off the wagon. If you eat the sugary foods at a party or gathering, then the cravings begin all over again. Break the habit once. It's easier that way.
Eat low glycemic foods. Whole foods and whole grains don’t spike your blood sugar.
I’m a big believer in taking small steps. Make your goal and move toward it. Your body will thank you in many ways!

Peace & Calming Essential Oil Blend

Understanding Grades of Essential Oils
The Essential oils in Young Living's collection are life-enhancing gifts from the plant kingdom, revered for centuries for their restorative properties to body, mind, and spirit.
Essential Oil Basics
Essential oils are the highly concentrated, volatile, aromatic essences of plants. Essential oils contain hundreds of organic constituents, including hormones, vitamins and other natural elements that work on many levels. They are 75 to 100 times more concentrated than the oils in dried herbs.
All the countries of the world provide essential oils, making aromatherapy a truly global therapy, and information on the specific properties of each essential oil can be found in any one of the hundreds of books published worldwide on the topic.
Understanding the Grades of Oils
There are significant differences between synthetic fragrance oils and pure essential oils. All Young Living Essential Oils are pure. There are 4 grades of essential oils.
Grade A oils are pure therapeutic quality and are usually made from organically grown plants, and are distilled at the proper temperatures.
Grade B oils are food grade, they may contain synthetics, pesticides, fertilizers, extenders, or carrier oils.
Grade C are perfume grade and may contain the same type of adulterating chemicals as food grade oils. They usually contain solvents which are used to gain a higher yield of oil per harvest. Solvents are not healthy.
Floral Water is a byproduct of the distillation process, a very high quality, IF it comes from a Grade A distillation process. Accordingly, it is a low quality if it comes from poor quality raw materials and/or poor distillations processes.
Synthetic fragrance oils may duplicate the smell of the pure botanical, but the complex chemical components of each essential oil created in nature determine its true benefits. In other words, synthetic fragrance oils will not have the medicinal properties; they are NOT suitable for aromatherapy.
Gems of Nature
Pure essential oils, like precious jewelry or fine wine, are gems of nature -- the quintessential life force of aromatic plants, sometimes called the "soul" of the plant. People who truly appreciate the qualities of pure essential oils consider each drop a precious jewel to be savored, enjoyed and protected.
Essential oils are absorbed into the fluid surrounding the cells beneath the skin's surface for a variety of effects including deep cleansing, nourishing, rejuvenating and balancing. Essential oils also diffuse into the air to provide olfactory benefits.

Steps to Healthier Living 9

Sleep. Simple right? Not so much. We have many things in our life that distract us from getting the proper amount of sleep.
8 Hours a night should be minimal. 8 - 10 optimal. The time you sleep is also important. 10:00p.m. should be the latest you go to bed or close to 10 as you can get.
Taking time in the day to lay flat on the floor and put your feet up on the couch or ottoman for 20 minutes is also a good practice.
Getting the right amount of sleep has been shown to help reduce your weight. Weight gain can be related to too little sleep.
