Walk To Health - Healthy Change Tip #3

Walk To Health - Healthy Change Tip #3

There are steps we can all take to help us walk to a healthier us.  I want to help you take some of those steps.

Take each step and work with it for a few weeks.

STEP #3 - Fats

Remove all vegetable fats from your diet.  Change to Cold Pressed Olive oil and Coconut Oil.  Changing these flavors takes time.  Remember, take a few weeks for each change.  You want it to be a life change.  Not a temporary change.

This is a very major and very important change.  If you ever do a Holistic Health Consultations with me this will be one of the changes you will be changing.

When you have completed these three changes, text me and let me know if you have noticed any health changes.  I would love to walk with you to additional changes.

Walk To Health - Healthy Change Tip #2

Walk To Health - Healthy Change Tip #2

There are steps we can all take to help us walk to a healthier us.  I want to help you take some of those steps.

Take each step and work with it for a few weeks.

STEP #2 - SALT

The Second step is SALT.  Our bodies need salt.  But what we don't need is sodium.  What is the difference?  LOTS.  Table salt is SODIUM, stripped of all trace minerals.  ALL 83 of them.  Just like all elements in the world of chemistry, if you remove elements, you change the composition of that element.  When you strip the 83 essential minerals from salt, you have sodium.  Which is not healthy for our bodies.

For this change, you have to watch everything you eat.  But the thing I want you to do, is eliminate all the "salt", table salt from your home.  You need to find and purchase UNrefined salt.  That means that the essential minerals are still in it.  There is one product in most stores called "Real Salt".  It is mined from the salt mines in Utah.  You can read on the back of the label.  Here is the link for their site: https://redmond.life/collections/real-salt.

Sea Salt is no longer unrefined salt.  So don't be fooled by that.  If the only ingredient is sodium, then you know you have the refined product.  Typically a Himalayan Salt will be unrefined.  But you have to be careful.

If you are craving salt, it could be you are in need of the 83 essential minerals in real salt, that are not present in sodium, table salt.

This is a very major and very important change.  If you ever do a Holistic Health Consultations with me this will be one of the changes you will be changing.

Walk To Health - Healthy Change Tip #1

Walk To Health - Healthy Change Tip #1

There are steps we can all take to help us walk to a healthier us.  I want to help you take some of those steps.

Take each step and work with it for a few weeks.

STEP #1 - WATER

The first step I want you to take is to make sure you are getting 1/2 your body weight in ounces, in every day.

Tips to help you accomplish this.

1 - Wake and stand at the sink and drink 12-16 oz of water in one standing.

2 - Every time you "Empty" your tank (eliminate urine), go and do #1 again.

If you do these steps, you should get your WATER intake complete by noon.  Once this is complete, every water consumption after this is bonus.

Hemp Oil and the relation to - CB1 and CB2 Receptors in the body.

www.walktohealth.primemybody.com - Go to the site to see the pic of the receptors in the body.  LOVE PROMO!  Through 2/17/18...  Go to the site to see the WONDERFUL sale for new Affiliates!  Join me in sharing this wonderful God given supplement!
CB1 receptors
The CB1 receptors are primarily located on nerve cells in the brain, spinal cord, but they are also found in some peripheral organs and tissues such as the spleen, white blood cells, endocrine gland and parts of the reproductive, gastrointestinal and urinary tracts.
In the brain, the CB1 receptors are abundant in the cerebellum, basal ganglia, hippocampus and dorsal primary afferent spinal cord regions, which is why cannabinoids influence functions such as memory processing, physical discomfort and motor control. (1)
CB2 receptors
The CB2 receptors are mainly found on white blood cells, in the tonsils and in the spleen. The immune cells also express CB1, although there are fewer of them than CB2. In the immune system, one important function of the cannabinoid receptors is the regulation of cytokine release.(1)

More about Prime My Body Hemp Oil

Pioneering A New Path

How Cannabinoids work

The science behind why PrimeMyBody's Hemp Extract is proving to be so effective is based on the Human Endocannabinoid System. This elaborate network is part of our immune system and when it is activated by taking phyto cannabinoid diols, humans (and animals) have better ability to fight, resist, and assist in repairing the mind and body.
The endocannabinoid system also includes the “cannabinoid receptors” or CB receptors that they bind to. There are two major types of cannabinoid receptors in our bodies: CB1 and CB2. Activation of the extracellular portion of these receptors causes conformational change and initiates intracellular biochemical reactions. The vast number of cannabinoid receptors and their prevalence throughout the body suggests a multitude of promising therapeutic targets.

10 Foods sold in the US that are BANNED elsewhere...

As I am setting up information for the classes that I am going to be teaching in January I find that people don't understand where their aches and ailments are coming from.

Really it is not the REAL food that is the problem, it is the process or additive to the food.  If you are having a reaction to a food it most likely is NOT the food itself, if it is whole, it is the process or additives.

Follow this link and get a taste of what I am referring to: http://oracletalk.com/10-foods-sold-u-s-banned-elsewhere/

Then come back and Pre-Register for one of my January classes by filling out the Health History Form.  Walk To Health (with). Me, and regain the health that you so desire while learning about how to regenerate your health and much more.

Classes are 6 months, 2 times a month, 90 minute classes.  Learning about Primary and Secondary foods, Health, wellness, and guiding you to a regenerative health state.

Location doesn't matter - some classes will be web based.

Food - Whole Food - Its Protective Power - Part 1

We have become so far removed from what real food is, by way of advertisements.  Have you ever paid attention to what those ads do to your desire by listening and watching them?  Those advertisers know that.  That is why they do it.

Try paying attention to when you see an ad and what you might eat over the following 24 hours, or desire to eat.

Is it 'real food' or is it the food like substance you just saw in the ad.  If what you eat comes in a box, it is not real food.  It is not, most likely going to be healthy for you.  Are there more than 3 ingredients?  Put it back and go to the outer skirts of the grocery store.

In this series of blogs I am going to be going through the Rainbow of phytonutrients.  Writing about the Antioxidants by the color of the food.  If we learn to look at our food, real food, by color and what it can help in our bodies we can slowly regain the health in our country.

It really is not more expensive to eat healthy.  How expensive is it to miss work, pay a co-pay at a Dr office, or even for your pharmaceuticals?  When you heal your body through the foods you eat, and give your body the nutrients it needs, you will eat the right amounts.  When you eat the 'food like substances' that are void of nutrients, your body is craving more, so you eat more, but still... it lacks nutrients, so the body starts demanding more.  Hence the situation of the undernourished over fed society we live in.

But how do we do this, how do we know what to eat and be healthy?  We have been told so many untruths about food that it is hard to decypher what to eat.

In my group sessions I guide people to learn how to do that.  To know.  To understand.  To gain health.

Are you addicted to Sugar?

Below is an article written by a Business Partner of mine. She writes weekly newsletters on wellness. The link to her web page is at the bottom. Are YOU addicted to sugar? I no longer am. Enjoy!
Lynn J. Woodley, CR

Reining in your Sweet Tooth
by Kim Watson

There is a buzz about sugar going on right now. Research is showing that sugar may be a BIG public health problem. It isn't just fat intake and high cholesterol levels that are the only culprits in the soaring rates of chronic disease today.

Are you a food label reader? Take a look. Sugar and high fructose corn syrup can be found in just about every processed food in the grocery store and fast food restaurant - deli meats, condiments, peanut butter, breads, cereals, frozen waffles, chips, baby foods, instant coffees, baked beans, dairy products, fruit juices, and, of course, in all the foods we expect to be sweet – jam, cookies, cakes, sodas, candy, ice creams etc.

The result? Sugar addiction across the population. Why are so many children resistant to healthy whole foods like vegetables and fruits? They are being weaned onto processed foods and their palettes are attuned and addicted to the sugars and chemical “flavor enhancers” they’ve been fed from the start. And even if you have been vigilant for years in steering clear of ‘unhealthy’ foods, many of the organic processed foods are still full of sugar.

Many of us admit to a ‘sweet tooth’. Is that a problem? Well, for sure, sugar isn’t helping your health. And there is a growing incidence of what the medical industry calls ‘metabolic syndrome’, a name for a group of risk factors that occur together and increase the risk for coronary artery disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Two of the most important risk factors are carrying extra weight around the middle, and insulin resistance, where the body can’t process insulin effectively and blood sugar levels rise. When blood sugar levels rise it affects kidney function and raises the level of triglycerides. This all points to chronic disease.

If you want more depth information I encourage you to read a fascinating NY Times article called ‘Is Sugar Toxic?’ and then watch ‘Sugar: The Bitter Truth’ on You Tube, a talk given by Robert H Lustig, MD, UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology on the damage caused by sugary foods.

Would you like to be free of your addiction to sweets?
Like any other addiction it takes persistence and effort. Here are some suggestions to help you along the way:
Don’t drink soft drinks of any kind. This is a no brainer. Just don’t, not even in moderation.
Avoid all artificial sweeteners – they increase your appetite, increase your sugar cravings, inhibit and decrease your fat metabolism. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080210183902.htm
Don’t buy junk food. Don’t have it in your home. You won’t eat it if it isn’t handy
Eat a piece of fruit when you have a sugar craving. Rather than giving a rush of energy, fruit gives a steady supply of glucose to your blood stream. This is a great bridge as you adjust to lower sugar intake.
Exercise. Along with diet, exercise yields great benefits – fitness and stable blood sugar levels.
Break the emotional association. Does sugar = happiness to you? If you associate it with love, reward, romance, holidays and good times, start separating the emotion from the food. Substitute flowers or a gift for the candy. Don’t reward children with food!
Taper off. This isn’t a race. Cut down on how much sugar you are eating with smaller portions or going for longer periods without it. Once you overcome the addiction, your body won’t ask for it. Really!
Don’t fall off the wagon. If you eat the sugary foods at a party or gathering, then the cravings begin all over again. Break the habit once. It's easier that way.
Eat low glycemic foods. Whole foods and whole grains don’t spike your blood sugar.

I’m a big believer in taking small steps. Make your goal and move toward it. Your body will thank you in many ways!

Spring is Coming!

Spring is coming and some may have spent a few too many hours on the couch this winter. You may want to review the 'Steps to Healthier Living' to get yourself ready for a more active spring and summer. One that might include gardening, and walking, maybe even some bike riding. Check the Index list at the side here for the Steps.

Steps to Healthier Living 9

Step 9

Sleep. Simple right? Not so much. We have many things in our life that distract us from getting the proper amount of sleep.

8 Hours a night should be minimal. 8 - 10 optimal. The time you sleep is also important. 10:00p.m. should be the latest you go to bed or close to 10 as you can get.

Taking time in the day to lay flat on the floor and put your feet up on the couch or ottoman for 20 minutes is also a good practice.

Getting the right amount of sleep has been shown to help reduce your weight. Weight gain can be related to too little sleep.

Get your Zzzzz's!

Steps to Healthier Living 8

Step 8

Do some sort of resistance exercise 2 - 3 times a week. The resistance doesn't need to be huge, it just needs to be done.

Loss of muscle can be reversed at any age. But you will lose it if you don't use it. You need muscle to function well.

It is good to do resistance on all your muscle groups in the legs, arms, chest, butt, gut, and back. You will know when you have worked them. It is good to alternate the cardio exercise with 'weights'.

Regain your muscles - this will help you maintain a healthy weight, mind and spirit.

Steps to Healthier Living 7

Step 7 - Steps to Healthier Living
Remove all non-fat, low fat processed foods. No non fat milk for example. Eat food in their natural God given form. Milk needs to be taken in, in its God given form - Whole. When you remove the fat from the milk you leave the 'sugar' portion of the food. This messes with your digestive system, ie your pancreas (and other systems) making your body systems work harder, and raising your blood sugar levels.

Yogurt is another one. Eat whole milk yogurt. When they make low or non fat foods they also add stuff, garbage, things that are not natural and therefore our bodies don't know what to do with them.

There is a whole list of foods that you might grab thinking they are better for you because the 'real deal' will make you fat. No... it is the opposite, if you would eat the whole food, and drop the non, and low, you might find that your weight would go down. Especially if you have stayed true to the STEP of only natural fruit sugar and no refined sugar. You might be surprised.

Steps to Healthier Living 5

So here we are 10 weeks into Healthier Living. How do you feel? I hope you are beginning to see the difference it makes in your body to eat healthier.

For Step 5, I am going to step away from changing more of how you eat. This step is going to be about the movement of your body.

Step 5 - Walk or do some sort of cardio exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time.

I am making this one light because first it takes a while to make this routine. And second because you probably are still adjusting to the food changes. Remember, no sugar means no sugar. ESPECIALLY - no High fructose corn syrup. So read your labels. Try to stay away from processed items. Make your own Ketchup, etc.

So - get up and move! See you again in 2 weeks! If you are already moving, GREAT! You can focus more on making the eating and drinking of steps 1 - 4 habits in your life.

God's blessings, Lynn

Steps to Healthier Living 4

Hi all, I am curious to know how you did with step 3, the whole grains. So if you want to take time to email me at solehaven@me.com that would be great.

Let's review.
1 - Water intake
2 - Sea Salt (Real Salt)only
3 - Whole Grains Only - This includes rice. No white rice. Whole grain rice only. There are great selections of wild rice that are whole. With the white rice they have taken the outside shell off. Which hold lots of nutrients.

So today as I am writing this I am wondering, do I give you a the big one or give you a smaller one?

Step 4

Eliminate processed sugar. Eat only fresh sugars from fruits. This one is a big one. it is one that takes time, because it takes time to take away the craving. When I did this years ago, it took me about 21 days to get through it, and feel good about it. When I did this, I allowed myself one day a year to eat whatever I wanted. Dec 31. The first year I had coke and loved it. The second year on my day, I had a SIP of a coke and it was awful. Also the sugared stuff wasn't good the second year either. So the desire does go away.

This one takes looking at the ingredients of everything. Believe me, you are addicted to white sugar. If something you like has sugar in it, find a recipe and make it fresh replacing the sugar with apple juice, or date puree. There are ways to sweeten without processed sugar.

There is sugar in LOTS of foods. What this does is moves you further away from processed foods. Processed foods have the enriched flours, and the high fructose corn syrup, and the chemicals that we don't need to be giving our bodies.

Take time on this one. I have cut out the sugars, the enriched flours, and have increased my water intake to 1 1/4 gallons a day. I also only use sea salt. You are not doing this alone. I am right here with you.

This is a 'Life Journey' to Healthy Living, enjoy it!

God's blessings,
Lynn
